The Observation of Pollination ，Fertilization and Seed Abortion of ‘Century Seedless Pear’

Abstract

Abstract: The pollination and fertilization of Century Seedless Pear were systematically examined by the method of anatomy. The results showed that the self-pollinated pollens couldn’t enter into the embryo sac；The cross-pollinated pollens could enter into the embryo sac after 48 hours. In the process of fertilization，one sperm couldn’t enter the egg cell or their nucleus couldn’t fuse，the other sperm could not fuse with polar nucleus and the double fertilization failed and it leaded to the seed abortion at last.
