Abstract: The parthenogenic young embryos were gained in apple varieties (Bela , Liaofu and Fuji) due to pollination with radiated pollen by 1 000 - 1 500 Gyγ ray. The haploids of these varieties were produced by young embryo culture and regeneration. The investigation indicated that major factors which limited hapliod production efficiency in apple by such technique included abscission of
fruits in early stage , young embryo abortion and difficulty in regeneration of young embryo with endosperm. The results also suggested that regeneration of 25 d young embryo (ovule) was available.
