A New Late Ripening Apple Cultivar‘Huayou Tianwa’

Abstract: ‘Huayou Tianwa’is a new apple cultivar derived from the cross of‘Hanfu’and‘Huahong’. The average fruit weight is 197 g. The shape of the fruit is nearly round. The fruit shape index is 0.86. The flesh is light yellow,tender,and crunchy. The hardness of the peeled fruit is 8.8 kg • cm-2. The soluble solids content is 18.0%. It tastes sweet and sour. The fruit is covered with red,and the surface is smooth with small fruit dot. It is a new late ripening apple cultivar,matured in late October in Xingcheng,Liaoning. The yield is 30 000 kg • hm-2.
