A New Late-Maturing and Large-Fruited Citrus Cultivar‘Gui Wogan 1’

Abstract: ‘Gui Wogan 1’is a new late-maturing,large-fruited citrus cultivar bred from a bud mutation of‘Orah’. It is a mixoploid(2x + 4x). The tree exhibits vigorous growth with large leaves and fruits,featuring an average fruit weight of 206 g. The fruits are oblate with a fruit index of 0.81,containing an average of 8.2 seeds per fruit,and monoembryonic. The fruit has a soluble solid content of 15.10%,titratable acidity of 0.58%,vitamin C content of 231.2 mg · L-1,and an edible rate of 69.84%. It is juicy and highly aromatic. In Nanning,Guangxi,the fruits mature in late January of the following year and can be preserved on the tree until early April. The average yield of a five year old tree reaches 40 kg. This cultivar is suitable for cultivation in citrus-producing regions with an annual average temperature above 17.8 ℃ and without severe frost damage in winter.
