Abstract: ‘Huazheng’is a mid-ripening and disease-resistant apple cultivar developed by crossing‘Jinguan’（female parent）with a multi-resistant germplasm resource（male parent）selected by our research group. Fruit shape is flattened-round,with an average single-fruit weight of 252.11 g and a fruit shape index of 1.18. The fruit peel is bright red,partially colored,and has large lenticels with moderate density. The fruit flesh is white,crisp,and moderately juicy,with a mild,sweet taste,a light aroma,and no undesirable aftertaste,indicating favorable fruit quality. Fruit peels exhibit a hardness of 7.70 N · cm^-2,contain 14.8% soluble solids,and 0.83% titratable acid. Long-term field experiments demonstrated that‘Huazheng’was highly resistant to Glomerella leaf spot,with fruit ripening in mid-September and a 142-day fruit development period. It is suitable for cultivation in the Bohai Rim region and parts of North China.
