A New Poplar Cultivar‘Yinhe 1’

Abstract: A new poplar cultivar‘Yinhe 1’was selected from the tetraploid plants which were obtained by treating the diploid Populus alba with colchicine. Its leaf color is darker,the outline of the leaf surface is warped,and the trichome density on the abaxial epidermis of the leaf is greater than that of the closely related variety Populus alba. It features a straight,thick trunk without edges or lateral branches,it has strong drought tolerance and is suitable for planting in the Northeast region of China.
