Abstract: ‘Husha Changqie’is a new hybrid eggplant cultivar developed by crossing the inbred line Ka 221 as the female parent and Eg201-1 as the male parent. It is mid-early maturing,with vigorous plant growth,reaching a height of about 120-130 cm. The first flower appears at the 6th to 7th leaf node. The fruit skin is purplish-black with a slight reddish tint,oily and bright,and highly glossy. The fruit is long and strip-shaped,with an average weight of around 100 g per fruit. The yield exceeds 60 000 kg · hm^-2,with a high fruit-setting rate and strong continuous fruiting ability. This cultivar is suitable for cultivation in regions of China where long-shaped eggplant cultivars are grown.
