Abstract: This paper reviews the important research progress on nuclear genome, chloroplast genome, transcriptome and epigenomics of Rosa sp.,combining with the recent study findings of the genetic determinism of continuous flowering and flower scent. In order to provide theoretical reference for answering the important biological questions of roses and the creation of new genetic resources, several key scientific questions are discussed and the prospect of the future research is proposed.
