Abstract: The pollen sub-micro-morphology of 24 cultivars in Pingyin rose was observed by scanning electron microscope, and the main component analysis and the cluster analysis were carried out based upon the observation data. The results showed that the pollen micro-morphological characters among cultivars have commonness aswell as distinct differences, especially in the exine ornamentations, which can provide scientific bases for cultivars identification of Pingyin rose. The pollens in Pingyin rose cultivars could be divided into two groups according the Cluster analysis: ‘Meigui’ type and ‘Qiangwei’ type. The classification is consistent with the traditional morphological classification system, except for some minor differences.
