Abstract: ‘Baojiao 4’is a first-generation hybrid cultivar of pepper,developed useing CF05 as the female parent and CF06 as the male parent. This cultivar is of the indeterminate growth type,matures early,with the first flowering node at 9-10,produces green fruit when young and red fruit when mature,measures 34.9 cm in length and 4.2 cm in diameter,with a flesh thickness of 2.65 mm,contains 2 seed chambers,has an average single fruit weight of 106 g,exhibits vigorous growth potential,and has strong continuous fruit-setting ability,yielding 251.55 kg · hm^-2. This cultivar contains 1.33 mg · g^-1 of vitamin C and 3.284 μg · kg^-1 of capsaicin,and is moderately resistant to tobacco mosaic virus disease. It is suitable for early spring cultivation in greenhouses or greenhouse systems.
