Abstract: ‘Baisha 3’is a new F₁ hybrid of Miben pumpkin,bred by Shantou Baisha Vegetable Seed Research Institute. It uses the self-line Miyou-4-2-12-3-12（female parent）and the self-line JHSM3-Ⅰ-25-20-4-10（male parent）. Single fruit weight of this cultivar is about 2.6 kg with a fruit length of approximately 30 cm. It has orange-yellow flesh with dense texture,waxy and slightly sweet taste. Compared with the Baisha Miben pumpkin,both its quality and yield are significantly improved. Due to its wide adaptability,‘Baisha 3’is suitable for spring and autumn planting in southern China regions such as Guangdong,Hainan,Fujian,Hunan and Hubei provinces.
