A New Potato Cultivar‘Dayu 5’

Abstract: ‘Dayu 5’is a fresh and processed cultivar. It was developed through sexual hybridization and systematic,with‘Emalingshu 5’as the female parent and 991-60 as the male parent. The plant had strong growth potential. The growth period is 86.7 d. The plant height is around 64.9 cm. The tuber is ovoid,with yellow skin and flesh,shallow eyes and smooth skin surface. The potato is concentrated. The ratio of large and medium tubers is 62.0%. The tuber dry matter content is 18.98%,starch content is 12.9%,protein content is 1.44%,reducing sugar content is 0.013% and vitamin C content is 0.0148%. The cultivar is moderately resistant to late blight and resistant virus disease. It’s suitable for cultivation in plain areas and mid-high mountain ecological zones in Sichuan Province,as well as analogous ecological zones in spring and winter.
