Abstract: ‘Tianjiaohong 1’is a new processing pigment pepper cultivar developed by using（L06-1）- 4-2-1-H-H-H as the female parent and 061-6-3-2-H-H as the male parent. This early-medium maturity cultivar produces goat-horn-shaped fruits with smoothed surfaces. The unripe fruit is deep green,and the dried fruit is deep red. The fruit length is 16.1 cm,with a shoulder width of 2.8 cm,and a single dried fruit weighs 7.3 g,dried yield reaches 9 057 kg · hm^-2. Fresh pepper contains 1.57 mg · g^-1 of vitamin C and 0.0017% of capsaicin. It is highly resistant to bacterial wilt and resistant to pepper phytophthora blight and anthracnose. The pigment value reaches to 25.2. It can be used for extracting red pigment,beating into powder,processing dried fruit,exporting raw pepper,etc. It is suitable for open field cultivation in Gansu Province,as well as in Yinchuan（Ningxia）,Heshuo（Xinjiang）,Bayannaoer（Inner Mongolia）,and ecologically similar regions.
