Abstract: ‘Jinfuxing 3’is a new tea cultivar selected from the natural hybrid progeny of‘Shuijingui’(female parent). It is shrub-type with medium leaves, characterized by green buds and young leaves, medium germination density, and moderate pubescence. Quantitative analysis showed that the first two leaves of spring tea shoots contained tea polyphenols, amino acids, caffeine, and water-soluble extractives at levels of 16.18%,3.00%,4.54%,and 41.99%,respectively. This cultivar is suitable for producing Oolong tea, which is characterized by tightly rolled, uniform strips;a rich and floral aroma;a mellow, thick, and sweet taste;and a bright orange-red liquor. The fresh leaf yield was up to 7 425 kg · hm-2. It has strong cold and drought resistance and is suitable for promotion and cultivation in Fujian Province and other tea regions with similar climatic conditions.
