Abstract: ‘Chunyan Changluo’is a new F₁ hybrid screw-type chili pepper cultivar developed by crossing A03905 as the female parent and B Liuyejiao as the male parent. The plant reaches 58 cm in height with a spread of 74 cm,exhibits an upright growth habit,produces many branches,and has short internodes and strong fruit set. Leaves are alternate,simple,entire and lanceolate. Fruits are green,linear,tapering to a point,25 cm long,2.20 cm wide at the shoulder,with a flesh thickness of 0.10 cm. Each plant bears about 29 fruits averaging 27 g. Vitamin C content is 1 200 mg · kg^-1 and capsaicin content is 0.036%. In the field the cultivar shows moderate resistance to CMV and TMV,and fresh-fruit yield exceeds 36 000 kg · hm^-2. It is recommended for protected cultivation in Jiangxi Province and other regions along the Yangtze River valley with similar climatic conditions.
