A New Lilium Cultivar‘Sweet Orange Dream’

Abstract: Lilium‘Sweet Orange Dream’is a new cultivar developed through conventional cross breeding,with the elite Asian lily cultivars‘Nivea’and‘Pollyanna’as the female and male parents,respectively. The flowering period extends from mid-June to mid-July. The plant height is approximately 116 cm,with green leaves. The flowers are orange,facing upward,and measure about 15 cm in diameter. The nectar groove is open and orange. The filaments are orange,and the pollen is red. The stigma is orange. The perianth segments are 10 cm in length and 4.5 cm in maximum width. The flowers are slightly fragrant and possess high ornamental value. The cultivar exhibits strong cold tolerance and good adaptability,making it suitable for cut flower cultivation and garden landscaping in Northeast China.
