Abstract: ‘Xinhe 1’is a new cultivar selected from walnut seedling population in Xinjiang. It has the characteristics of large nut and smooth beauty，thin husk and tight suture line，easy to taking whole kernels，and sweet and fragrant taste. The average nut weight is 20.3 g，with a husk thickness of 1.3 mm，the kernel ratio of 55.6%，the crude fat content 66.7%，the crude protein content 13.5%，and the converted sugar content 3.4%. Additionally，it demonstrates the strong branching ability and good yield. The nut ripens in mid September，with a per plant yield of 20–30 kg during the full nut period. It exhibits the strong resistance to cold and barrenness，suitable for cultivation in the southern Xinjiang.
