Abstract: ‘Ban Die’is a new Paphiopedilum cultivar developed by crossing two excellent strains of female parent Paphiopedilum bellatulum and male parent Paph. callosum. It is a novel potted orchid cultivar belonging to the spotted-leaf group of slipper orchids，and exhibits strong growth. The leaf is shaped like a rectangular lanceolate，green in color with a deep green interlaced network pattern. The average length and width of the leaf are 11.7 cm and 3.5 cm，respectively. The peduncle is deep purple， with an average length of 12.0 cm and an average of 1.7 flowers. The average horizontal and vertical diameters of the flower are 8.1 cm and 8.9 cm，respectively. The dorsal sepal is light purple with a green base，with an average length and width of 4.4 cm and 4.3 cm，respectively. The petals are 5.4 cm long and 2.3 cm wide，while the labellum is deep purple，sack-shaped，and measures 4.4 cm in length and 1.6 cm in width. The flowering period is from March to April，with a lifespan of approximately 45 d per flower.
