Abstract: Hedychium‘Hexu’was selected from F1 generation population which was derived from the H. coronarium as female parent and H. flavum Roxb. as male parent. The average plant height is 108.4 cm when the rhizomes were planted to the full flowering stage. Compared with the female，the upper bracts of the inflorescence became reel-shaped roll-shaped and the florets became smaller and yellow. The color from the center to base of labellum change to yellow；compared with the male，lateral staminodes become ellipsoidal（paternal falcate lanceolate）and fragrance becomes lightly scented（paternal medicinal fragrance）；high temperature tolerance. It has high ornamental value and strong resistance to ginger blast， moreover suitable for cultivation in South China.
