Abstract: The new cultivar Hedychium‘Chenxi’was selected from F1 generation population which was derived from the hybridization of H. coronarium as female parent and H. coccineum × H. gardnerianum‘CH-1’as male parent. Compared with the female parent，the bracts became reel-shaped and the florets became smaller；The color of lateral staminode and labellum becomes yellow to light orange， and the color from the center to base of labellum，the base of lateral staminode，filaments and anthers becomes orange-red. The fragrance becomes lighter and elegant compared with the male parent，there are 4–5 florets in the bracts. The color of lateral staminodes and labellum becomes yellow to light orange. In conclusion，this cultivar has high ornamental value and strong resistance to ginger blast which makes it to have good market potential.
