Abstract: ‘Layan 201’is a new pepper F1 hybrid developed by crossing sterile line y92-1A as female parent and inbred line GJH2-2① as male parent. It is early maturity. Its plant is compact type. It has continuous fruit bearing ability. There are about 77 fruits per single plant. The fruit is strip shape. The immature fruit is light green and matured one is bright red. There are little wrinkles on fruit peel. The fruit is thin at both ends and coarser in the middle. The average fruit length is 18.4 cm，and fruit width is 1.62 cm. The average single fruit weigh is 18.25 g. Its vitamin C content is 1 110 mg · kg-1，dry matter content is 14.3%. It tastes slightly spicy with good flavor．Its yield is about 45 000 kg · hm-2. It is resistant to viral disease，and tolerant to anthracnose. It is suitable for planting in greenhouse in early spring，or open fields in spring and summer in Guizhou Province and areas with similar climate conditions.
