Abstract: ‘Huayu Zhining’，obtained by crossing Paeonia ostii‘Fengdan’with P. suffruticosa ‘Xiangyu’，is a new tree peony cultivar with a pleasant floral scent and the late-flowering trait. Plants are common tall erect shrubs with pale green bipinnate leaves. The plant is vigorous and annual branches are long, branchy，and 50–60 cm length. The petals are white（NN155B）and the size of the flower is more than 17 cm in diameter，in which stamens and carpels are converted to petaloid organs to form double flowers. Therefore，the cultivar is desirable for cut-flowers and planted for landscaping in gardens.
