A New Wine Grape Cultivar‘Zijing Meilu’

Abstract: ‘Zijing Meilu’is a new Vitis amurensis Rupr. cultivar that has been artificially bred through hybridization with‘Zuo Shan Er’as the mother and‘Hassan’as the father,and it can be used to brew dry red wine from a single cultivar. The density of the clusters is medium,the average weight of a single spike is 131.99 g. The clusters are conical and have secondary clusters,black skin,green flesh,berries spherical,and the average weight of a single grain is 1.39 g,3-5 seeds,and bisexual flowers. Five years of high yield,with an average yield of 15 380 kg · hm-2 during the peak fruiting period. Fruit soluble solids,total acidis and juice yield are 20.7%,9.66 g · kg-1 and 66.00%,respectively.‘Zijing Meilu’exhibits strong cold resistance and high resistance to downy mildew. When cultivated in the open field in Changchun,its growth period ranges from 129-154 days. It blossoms in the middle to late May and matures in the middle to late September,with only mild downy mildew infestations.It is suitable for production and cultivation in mountainous or semi-mountainous areas with an annual frost-free period of more than 125 days and an active accumulated temperature of ≥ 10 ℃ and above 2 500 ℃.
