Abstract: A new hybrid flowering Chinese cabbage cultivar‘Yuetai 5’was bred from the self-incompatible line T Baicai-2 with in bred line Xiaogang 0-4-0. The cultivar is late-maturing，the leaves are long oval，green，with 28.1 cm in length and 15.6 cm in width. Main sprouts are 44.6 cm high，3.0 cm thick. The coverage sprout weight is 327.8 g. Sprout color is green. It taste crisp and sweet. The souble solids content is 6.56%，protein content is 2.58%，reducing sugar content is 2.5%，crude fibre content is 0.7% and vitamin C content is 0.535 mg · g-1.‘Yuetai 5’showed strong adaptability，good yield and quality. The yield is up to 22 483.5 kg · hm-2 in spring and 31 399.5 kg · hm-2 in autumn.
