Abstract: ‘Zhongjiao 409’is a F1 hybrid spiral pepper cultivar using inbred line 12C91-2 as the female parent and BLM-0-3-5-1 as the male parent. It is of medium maturity. The average first floral bud is borne at node 10.8. The fruit is goat-horn-shaped，with pits and spirals on the fruit surface. It is medium spicy. The average longitudinal diameter of the fruit is 25.00 cm，the average horizontal diameter of the fruit is 3.60 cm. The flesh thickness is about 0.30 cm，the average fruit weight is 96.40 g，and the yield is 54 091.5 kg • hm-2. It is moderate resistance to CMV and resistance to Phytophthora capsici，TMV， ToMV（P0） and PMMoV（P1,2）. It has strong ability to set fruit continuously，high and stable yield. It is suitable for protected cultivation in the north and open field cultivation in some areas.
