Germplasm Resource and Habitat Types of Wild Begonia in Subtropical Region of Guizhou

Abstract

Abstract: There are nineteen species of wild begonia including new recorded species in subtropicalregion of Guizhou. They are distributed in Qianbei , Qiandongbei , Qiandongnan and Qiannan respectively. Its habitat types are classified into shrub-wet land , forest-wet land and shade-wet rock type, of which , the most species belong to shade-wetrock type. Ornamental and dual-purpose type are classified according to its utilization , of which , the most species belong to ornamental type. B .crassirostris Irmsch. , B . truncatiloba Irmsch. , B . calophylla Irmsch. , B . summoglabra Yu , and B . parvula Levl . are in imminent danger.
