A New Hot Pepper Cultivar‘Sujiao 1614’

Abstract: ‘Sujiao1614’is a new early ripening hot pepper developed by crossing inbred line ‘2014X18’with inbred line‘2014X48’. It has strong branching ability and good fruits setting;the first flower is in the 7–8th node. The fruit is long lantern-shaped,slightly spicy,thin and crisp,slightly wrinkled. The fruit is 15–16 cm in length,5–6 cm in shoulder width,0.26 cm in flesh thickness,79.6 g in weight per fruit and 59 190.0 kg ? hm-2 in yield. It has high yield and good production efficiency in the early stage. It shows good tolerant to low temperature and low light,and resistant to sunburn,anthracnose and virus diseases. It is suitable for the protected cultivation in the regions of the Yangtze-Huaihe and Huaihe-Huanghe rivers.
