A New Pepper Cultivar‘E-Shuailiang’

Abstract: ‘E-Shuailiang’,a new pepper cultivar,was based on THI-P-10-2 and P5114-3 as the parents. The string-shaped fruits are deep green in color,smooth in the fruit surface,crisp,slightly spicy. The longitudinal and transverse diameters of fruit are 22–24 cm and 1.8 cm respectively. The average fruit weight is 18 g. The flesh contains 1.14 mg ? g-1 vitamin C,0.11% capsaicin,1.40% protein. The cultivar shows the middle resistance to CMV,anthracnose and bacterial spot,and intermediate heat resistance in the field. It is suitable for open cultivation,semi-forcing or forcing cultivation in Hubei Province,with the yield more than 52 500 kg ? hm-2.
