Abstract: ‘Wankang 1’is a new Phoebe zhenna cultivar selected from the seedlings of Phoebe zhennan on the northern edge.‘Wankang 1’has a bluish brown bark. The leaves are leathery，evergreen and narrow oval，with a length of 7–15 cm，and a width of 2–4 cm. It has strong cold resistance，so it is suitable for planting in area of Phoebe zhennan in the south of Yangtze River in Anhui Province. It can be used as court shade tree or street tree. It can be planted alone in park green space，lawn and configured in front of buildings.
