Abstract: ‘Xingqing’，a new Clematis cultivar of bell type，was bred through continuous selection from the offspring of open pollinated seedlings of the cultivated variety‘Angel Dance Skirt’. The plant is deciduous and climbing，with a height of 1.5–2.0 m and pinnately compound leaves. Flowering period is from early May to late October. The flowers are solitary，bell shaped，pendulous，with foursepals，bright purple，2.0–2.5 cm in diameter. There are 25.3 flowers per plant.‘Xingqing’ is suitable for potted or ground planting，and can meet the family horticultural cultivation in the south of the Yellow River.
