Abstract: The mother tree of Chionanthus retusus‘Lianchun’comes from an over 800 years old tree grown in Lianyungang，Jiangsu. It is a new cultivar that was cultivated by engrafting with sprouting of base root. It is distinctive with spherical crown，branches like dragon at the bottom of the crown，large flower volume per inflorescence，male flowers with a fragrant aroma. White corolla with four deep parts is 4.0–4.2 cm in diameter，corolla lobes are light purule at the base. It is suitable for planting in Beijing.
