Abstract: ‘Meiyu 1’is a new bitter gourd hybrid derived from the strong female inbred line E23-13 and the mid-late maturing inbred line K13-B. The node of the first female flower is 14.7–15.6，and the first gourd is located at 16.4–16.7 node. The fruit shape is conical，with green skin. There are many round tubercules with strip. It’s about 26.8–27.6 cm in length，6.06–6.45 cm in diameter，and 1.20–1.23 cm in flesh thickness. The fruit weight is 355.1–374.9 g，and the yield per plant is around 1.38–2.00 kg. The general cultivation yield is about 52.47–59.97 t • hm-2. It’s suitable to be cultivated in Guangdong，Guangxi，Hainan and Fujian in spring and autumn.
