A New Longan Cultivar‘Chunxiang’with Rich Aroma

Abstract: A new logan cultivar‘Chunxiang’is an excellent offspring from‘Dongbao 9’בWanxiang’crossing population. The fruit are approximately circular,with single fruit weight 12.5–14.2 g,esculent rate is 70.2%–72.9% and the TSS is 19.1%–23.4%. The juicy flesh is milk white,crisp,delicate-based slag and can be easy free from seed. The texture tastes sweet,aromatic and its esters,aldehydes and alcohols occupy 21.0% of total volatile compounds to be the specific aroma of this cultivar. The fruit mature from late-September to mid-early October in Fuzhou,show high and stable production yield.
