A New Iris germanica Cultivar‘Jinwuqu’

Abstract: ‘Jinwuqu’is a new Iris germanica cultivar derived from the cross of female parent‘Singing Orioles’and male parent‘Skyfire’. The plant height is about 69.5 cm. Its classification is Border Bearded (BB). The transverse diameter of the flowers is 12.9 cm,and the longitudinal diameter is 11.5 cm. The flowers with wavy edges are yellow(RHS 12A). The upper half of the flapes has radiative white stripes. Its beards are thick orange(RHS 28A). The number of flowers is 6–8 of single inflorescence. The florescence is from mid April to early May. It has the advantages of drought hardiness,cold-resistant,strong resistance,bright flower color,long flowering period and evergreen,and it is suitable to be planted throughout the year in the lower-middle reaches of Yangtze River basin.
