A New Cultivar‘Chunzao’in Spring Cabbage

Abstract: ‘Chunzao’,an early maturing spring cabbage cultivar,which is characterized by good leaf heading quality,strong cold resistance and bolting-tolerance,vigorous growth potential,deep green leaf color,middle wax content on leaf. The leaf heading is peach shape,and the leaf heading shape index is 1.1. The average fresh weight is 1.2 kg,and it yields 48 000 kg · hm-2. The cultivar is suitable to be planted at Yangtze River Vallege and its southern areas,such as Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Henan,Jiangxi,Guizhou,Chongqing and Hubei provinces,by outdoor cultivation as spring cabbage. The whole market growth period(from transplant to harvest)is about 140 days by outside plant pattern.
