A New Grape Rootstock Cultivar‘Kangzhen 3’

Abstract: ‘Kangzhen 3’is derived from‘Hean 580’(Vitis riparia Michawx.)בSO4’(V. berlandieri Planch × V. riparia Michawx.),which is high resistant to salinity,phylloxera and root-knot nematode. ‘Kangzhen 3’has strong adaptability,high yields,and good compatibility with the commercial cultivars. Compared with‘Beta’and‘SO4’,it has no appreciable effect on the main characteristics of‘Kyoho’,‘Red Globe’,‘Xiangyue’,‘Summer Black’and‘Zhenghei’. This cultivar germinate in early April,bloom in early May. Its branches began to mature in early July,and leaves began to drop in early November. The annual growth period is about 216 days in Zhengzhou.
