A New Iris germanica Cultivar‘Jiutian Xuannü’

Abstract: ‘Jiutian Xuannü’is a new Iris germanica cultivar deriving from the crossbreeding between female parent 2010170 and male parent‘Skyfire’. Its plant height is 50–55 cm,the inner perianth of ‘Jiutian Xuannü’is pink violet(RHS N77D)with dark violet(RHS N88D)shading while the outer perianth is purple brown(RHS 166A),the inner and outer perianths of‘Jiutian Xuannü’have wavy edges. There are 4–6 flowers grown on each single stem. The florescence is from April to May. It has the advantages of lodging resistance,large flowers,disease resistance. It is suitable to be planted throughout the year in the lower-middle reaches of Yangtze River basin.
