A New Amorphophallus muelleri Cultivar‘Linyu 1’

Abstract: ‘Linyu 1’is a new konjac cultivar bred from Amorphophalls muelleri varieties populations by systematic breeding method. The corm epidermis is light reddish-brown in color and flesh is yellow-white in profile. The petiole is smooth during the period of corm growing. The color of the petiole base is yellow-green,with irregular patches,patch color from base,middle to top from brown-green to light-green gradient. It yields 58.5 t ? hm-2 and has good disease resistance. The incidence of soft rot was less than 1.5%. The corm has 48.5% dry matter,which has 43.96% konjac glucomannan(KGM)and 15 600 mPa ? s viscosity. It is suitable for planting in high temperature and humidity environment in low altitude areas of Yunnan.
