A New Cultivar of Robinia pseudoacacia‘Ziyan Qingshan’

Abstract:

Robinia pseudoacacia‘Ziyan Qingshan’is a new fast-growing and ornamental cultivar selected from the seedlings of R. pseudoacacia after years of cultivation and observation.It grows more rapidly with straighter tree trunk,larger amount of papilionaceous flowers and legumes compared with ordinary black locust. The color of these legumes is gorgeous purple and changeable during the period of young,mid-mature and mature,presenting atropurpureus,puce and tenne,respectively. So it is a really valuable variety for viewing flowers,fruits and bee-keeping. Meanwhile,the new plant is of great value in ecological protection. It can be propagated and afforested easily. Moreover,it can be cultivated widely in the world.
