A New Chinese Jujube Cultivar‘Ziyuan’with High Resistance to Fruit Cracking and Shrink Disease

Abstract:

‘Ziyuan’,a new Chinese jujube(Zizyphus jujuba Mill.)cultivar with high resistance to fruit cracking and shrink disease,was selected from Yuanling jujube resources in Guangzong County,Hebei Province. The fruit has a nearly round or oblate shape and purple red skin. The average weight of per fruit is 23.4 g and the percentage of esculent part of fruit is 96.0%. The rate of drying is 62.7%,and the sugar content of dried jujube is 77.6%. The fruits ripen in late September,and its developing period is 105 days. It is highly resistant to fruit cracking and shrink disease. The cultivar has high and stable yield. The fruits are suitable for drying.
