A New Celosia Cultivar‘Jiaoyang’

Abstract:

‘Jiaoyang’cockscomb is a new cultivar developed from Celosia cristata’Zaoshui’,a traditional cultivar in Guangdong,the seeds of which were carried by recoverable satellite. The stable mutant lines were screened from the mutation population for 5 generations. It is 35.3 cm in height,29.2 cm in width,8 claret-colored crested inflorescences on average and long oval leaf with deep green color. Inflorescences of this cultivar can last over 90 days or so. It is suitable for growing in summer in the most regions of China and around year in Southern China because it had the tolerance to high temperature.
