Abstract:

‘Jiyan 16’is a hybrid of sweet pepper selected from the crossing of the genic male sterile line AB91-W222-49176 and inbred line BYT-4-1-3-6-8. The cultivar has a healthy growth. It is resistant to virus disease，anthrax，phytophthora blight and bacterial wilt. It has large fruit size and good quality. The fruit is lantern-like with green，mature fruit into yellow，and is 10.0 cm in length，9.2 cm in width，0.5 cm in flesh thickness. The average fruit weight is 220 g. The vitamin C content is 1.41 mg · g-1. It is suitable for protected cultivation. The yield is about 60 000 kg · hm-2.
