A New Hot Pepper Cultivar‘Sujiao 18’

Abstract:

A new early ripening hot pepper cultivar‘Sujiao 18’has been released. It shows strong tolerance to low temperature with compact plants. The fruit is long lantern shaped,13.1 cm in length,4.8 cm in width,and 65.7 g in weight,0.29 cm in flesh thickness,and the vitamin C content is 1.18 mg · g-1. The marketable yield is up to 39 051.0 kg · hm-2. It is resistant to bacterial wilt,anthracnose,phytophthora blight and virus disease. The cultivar is suitable for the protected cultivation in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River.
