Differences of Shelf-life in Some Melons Including Six Varieties of Cucumis melo L.

摘要: 对甜瓜属6 个变种的13 个材料的货架期及相关因素进行了测定比较。结果表明, 来自var.
saccharinus 和inodorus 的5 个品系表现出乙烯释放速率和鲜样质量损失率很低, 货架期显著优于其它变种的材料。var. reticulatus 虽然乙烯释放量较低, 但由于果肉软化, 其货架期短于var. inodorus 。var. cantalupensis , makuwa 和acidulus 货架期短。相关性分析显示货架期还与果实发育期及果实质量存在高度相关, 而果实表面的网纹结构与乙烯释放速率、鲜样质量损失速率及货架期并无显著的相关性。

Abstract: Thirteen melon accessions ( Cucumis melo L. ) including six varieties were used to investigate the difference of shelf-life. Results revealed that five accessions from var. saccharinus and inodorus appeared lower ethylene production rate and weight loss rate , displayed a very good shelf-life. Although var. reticulatus showed a rather low ethylene production rate , their shelf2life was shorter than that of var. inodorus. Var. cantalupensis ,makuwa and acidulus appeared comparatively shorter shelf-life. Moreover , it was observed that weight loss , ethylene production and shelf-life are independent of the nature of rind whether netted or smooth.
