Abstract: ‘Weijian’is a new cucumber F₁ hybrid developed by crossing the gynoecious inbred line H-15-5 as female parent with the inbred line C-11 as male parent. The plant is of gynoecious type,early-maturing with strong growth vigor. It has green leaves,high resistance to downy mildew and medium resistance to powdery mildew. Its fruit is cylindrical,with light green and glossy peel,inconspicuous ridges,spines with small and moderately dense tumors. The flesh is light green,non-bitter and has parthenocarpic ability. The average fruit weight is about 140 g,with sweet and crisp taste and good marketability. Its vitamin C content is 217 mg · kg^-1,and the average yield is over 73 600 kg · hm^-2. It is suitable for cultivation in spring protected areas in Heilongjiang.
