Abstract: The new Streptocarpus cultivar‘Taiping Houkui’was derived from the cross of S. cooperi and S.‘Drako’,which blooms from late May to early October. Plant monophyllous,leaf 23-45 cm in length and 8-21 cm in width. Corolla salverform,tube 3.5-4.3 cm long and 3.5-4.9 cm wide,bright purple with throat marked by pale yellow and purple veins,corolla tube salver-shaped. It produces abundant flowers and blooms in indoor environments with relatively low light conditions,making it suitable as an ornamental potted plant for indoors or for planting under trees in the warm southern regions during winter.
