A New Early-maturing Sweet Cherry Cultivar‘Fuling’

Abstract: ‘Fuling’,a new early-maturing and big-fruit sweet cherry cultivar,was selected from the progenies of open pollinated‘Hongdeng’sweet cherry. The fruits are kidney-shaped with purplish red skin,having an average weight of about 10.4 g. The flesh is crisp and sweet taste,with rich flavor and fine quality. Moreover,the content of soluble solids is 18.6%,and the fruit edible rate reaches 94.2% . The fruit development period of‘Fuling’is about 42 d,which matures on May 25th in Yantai area. It ripens earlier 5 d than‘Hongdeng’,earlier fruiting and higher yield about 12 t ? hm-2. This cultivar is suitable to be cultivated in middle-early maturing production area of sweet cherry.
