A New Cultivar of Jerusalem Artichoke‘Lanyu 1’

Abstract:

‘Lanyu 1’jerusalem artichoke is an excellent progeny which was derived from reproduction materials of natural fructification seeds of‘J1’in Tonghua,Jilin Province. It has a compact plant type. The plant height varies from 230 cm to 250 cm,and the number of main stem is only one in general. It has a few branches and light purple stem. The tuber is light brown,which with a regular pattern and a relatively concentrated growth. It has a growth period about 160 days,a short blooming period about 20 days. The tuber yield of individual plant could achieve to above 1.7 kg. It has characteristics of high yield and strong stress resistance,and is suitable to plant in arid and semi-arid regions where the annual rainfall is above 150 mm.
