A New Rhododendron Cultivar‘Yuzhuo’

Abstract: ‘Yuzhuo’is a new cultivar selected from the natural hybrids between Rhododendron spinuliferum Franch and R. spiciferum Franch. Corolla tubular bell-shaped,1.4–1.8 cm long,corolla tube base nearly white,toward the upper part of the corolla gradually darker,pink,5-lobed in the middle or above,oblong,erect,slightly spreading,outside sparsely yellowish glandular scales;Stamens exposed, anthers purple-black,lower filaments densely white pubescent,style protruding,longer than stamens, base densely pubescent,flowering period 2–4 months. The cultivar was suitable for planted in Yunnan Province.
