A New Vegetable Soybean Cultivar‘Qingsu 8’

Abstract: ‘Qingsu 8’is a new vegetable soybean cultivar developed by pedigree selection method from cross combination of‘Qingsu 2’as female parent and‘Huangniu Tabian’as male parent. This is a cultivar with determinate characteristics. Its plant height is about 45–50 cm,with 11–12 nodes on the main stem. The pod number of each plant is over 120,proportion of 2–3 grains is 67.3%. The fresh pod is green,with few white down. The length and width of pod with 2–3 grains are more than 6.43 cm and 1.47 cm,respectively. The weight of 100 fresh grain is 101.7 g,and the grain is coating chorion,easy to cooking,tasting glutinous and light sweet. The average yield of fresh pods is 24 750 kg • hm-2. This cultivar has the characteristics of lodging resistance and SMV resistance,and could be used for open field summer cultivation in Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Shanghai and Anhui.
